This site is static HTML with no script of any kind. There is nothing to accept, because nothing is set.
What the pages do
Every page on this site is static HTML with a single local stylesheet and local images. There is no JavaScript, no analytics, no advertising, no embedded video, no font loaded from another domain and no tracking pixel. Nothing on a page sets a cookie or writes to local storage, which is why there is no consent banner to click away.
What the host sees
The site is served by a content delivery network. Like every web server, that infrastructure processes the technical data a browser sends in order to deliver a page: the requested address, the network address of the request, the user agent string and the time. That processing is what makes serving a page possible and the desk does not build profiles, sessions or audience segments from it.
If you write to the desk, your message and your address are held in the mailbox for as long as the exchange is useful, and are used only to answer you and to correct the site. They are not added to a list, not used for any announcement and not passed to anyone. You can ask what is held about your message, ask for it to be deleted, or ask for a correction, by writing to the same address.
Links away from here
Pages link to specifications, vendor documents and archived material on other sites. Once a link is followed, that site decides what it collects, and its own policy applies. The desk has no control over and no visibility into what happens there. Nothing is embedded from those sites into a page here, so following a link is a deliberate act by the reader rather than something that happens on load.
Changes
If this page changes, the change is dated in the bench notes like every other revision on this site.
Why there is no analytics here
Measuring readers is normal and this desk chose not to. The reason is practical rather than moral: an analytics script is a third party running code in a reader's browser on every page, it has to be disclosed, it has to be consented to, and it would answer a question the desk does not need answered. What matters here is whether a page is accurate, and the only signal for that arrives by email from someone who read it.
The consequence is that the desk does not know how many people read a page, which page is popular, or where a reader came from. That is a real cost and it is accepted. It also means there is no audience figure on this site, and no claim about one, because there is nothing to base such a claim on.
Your rights
If you have written to the desk, you can ask what is held about that exchange, ask for it to be corrected, and ask for it to be deleted. There is one address for all three and it is the same address you wrote to. No account exists on this site, so there is no profile to export and no login to close.
